This practical workshop is for anyone who wants to understand the magic of traditional darkroom printing - from exposing photographic paper under the enlarger to developing, stopping, fixing and washing your final print.
Warm, hands-on and beginner-friendly, it is a simple way to experience the full analogue process without needing prior darkroom experience.

This workshop is ideal for complete beginners, film photographers who have never printed before, or anyone returning to the darkroom after a long break. It is also a good fit for people who are simply curious about analogue photography and want a creative, hands-on experience without needing any previous darkroom knowledge.
What will you learn?
You’ll learn how a black and white enlarger works, how to handle photographic paper, and how to make a simple test strip before creating your final print. We’ll guide you through exposure, development, stop bath, fixer and washing, while introducing the basic safety and working practices needed to feel comfortable in the darkroom.
How it works?
You’ll work with guidance throughout the session, moving step by step through the printing process.
We’ll begin by introducing the darkroom, the enlarger and the chemistry. You’ll then learn how to expose photographic paper, process it in trays and refine your print through simple adjustments.
By the end of the workshop, you should have made your own black and white print and gained a solid foundation for future darkroom sessions.
